Volleyball Recap: Viewmont Comes Up Short

Viewmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Alta Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Viewmont ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least nine points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 26-28, 20-25, 15-9.

Summer Dirkmaat paced Viewmont's offense, picking up 20 kills. Dirkmaat got some help from Miya Edgington and her 41 assists. Addison Pinnock controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Viewmont's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Alta, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Viewmont is set to square off against their familiar foe Olympus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alta will face off against rival Skyline at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
