Football Game Preview: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Krum Bobcats

The Ferris Yellowjackets will face off against the Krum Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 845 yards in their previous games.

On Friday, Ferris earned a 27-20 win over Wills Point. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Qui-Darwin Cotton was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 79 yards on only six carries, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. Ferris also got a significant boost from Kaden Gonzalez, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Ferris was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 291 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Krum got themselves on the board against Bonham on Friday, but Bonham never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 49-0. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won seven contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

Ferris better keep an eye on Will Holland. He was instrumental in Krum's win, rushing for 275 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Holland's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

Krum didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daniel Holt and Ryder Page.

Ferris' record now sits at 4-6. As for Krum, their record is now 9-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Ferris has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 153.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Krum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 284 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
