Softball Recap: Hayden Victorious

While Hayden's victory against Southeastern wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats skirted past the Mustangs 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Hannah Davidson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last seven matchups.

At the plate, Baylee Scott was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Layton Hurst, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Hayden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hayden's victory bumped their record up to 19-14. As for Southeastern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-9 record this season.

Hayden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-1 win against Cleveland on the 3rd. As for Southeastern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Locust Fork on the 3rd.
