Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Ballou Knights
On Wednesday, the Roosevelt Roughriders faced the Ballou Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Roosevelt blew past Ballou, posting a 55-23 victory on the road. Roosevelt has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.
Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamar'sha Wilson, who scored 15 points along with six steals. Wilson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Russ, who scored seven points along with nine steals.
Roosevelt now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Ballou, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Roosevelt will look to defend their home court on Friday against School Without Walls at 5:30 p.m. School Without Walls is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Ballou, they will head out on the road to challenge Banneker at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Banneker is ranked eighth, while Ballou is ranked 19th).
