Softball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

Clinton lost against West Bladen last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dark Horses fell just short of the Knights by a score of 6-5. The Dark Horses' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Da'Niyah Coxum was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Niah Torres also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for West Bladen, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will venture away from home to face off against Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.69 runs per game on average), something the Dark Horses will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for West Bladen, they will head out on the road to take on East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
