Volleyball Recap: Eden Gurganous' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pender over North Brunswick + How To Watch

Pender lost against North Brunswick back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Scorpions.

While Pender was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into North Brunswick's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Pender's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eden Gurganous, who had 16 digs and one block. Another player making a difference was Charleigh Rivenbark, who had five aces, four digs, and one block.

Pender has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for North Brunswick, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pender will take on South Lenoir at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Brunswick, they will challenge Hoggard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
