Preview: Calvary Christian Warriors vs. Shorecrest Prep Chargers
Calvary Christian is 10-0 against Shorecrest Prep since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Calvary Christian Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Shorecrest Prep Chargers at 6:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Monday, Calvary Christian beat Palmetto 74-66.
Ace Taylor and Ethan Sabec were among the main playmakers for Calvary Christian as the former scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists and the latter dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sabec has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Geiger, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Shorecrest Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Clearwater Central Catholic 62-35 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Shorecrest Prep has managed all season.
Calvary Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Shorecrest Prep, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6.
Calvary Christian strolled past Shorecrest Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 68-53. Will Calvary Christian repeat their success, or does Shorecrest Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
