Softball Recap: Colby's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Colby entered their tilt with Scott on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Beavers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ryler Carter was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sadie Cheney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Jalyssa Sabatka was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Colby pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Scott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
