Volleyball Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sneads was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Altha Wildcats. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Sneads actually scored more points across those five sets (101-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-18, 13-25, 25-19, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Sneads still got an impressive performance from LaRay Gibbs, who had 35 digs and six aces. Gibbs is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Shaleigh Harrell, who had 23 digs and three aces.

Sneads now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Altha, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-9.

Sneads didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Port St. Joe on the 7th. As for Altha, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Bethlehem on the 7th.
