Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Dearborn). They blew past the Batesville Bulldogs 17-7 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the game before.

South Dearborn's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Batesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

South Dearborn and Batesville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Knights (ranked 281st) will meet East Central (ranked 54th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Batesville will take on Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (300 vs. 122).
