Softball Recap: Glens Falls' Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

Glens Falls dropped their record down to 6-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the South Glens Falls Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Black Bears were not able to get on the board.

Isabella Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

As for South Glens Falls, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.

On South Glens Falls' side, the result came thanks to Isabelle Ames's shutout, as she gave up just five hits.

On the hitting side, South Glens Falls saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was Roberts' first of the season.
