Basketball Recap: Torrington Raiders vs. Wilby Wildcats

The Torrington Raiders entered their tilt with the Wilby Wildcats with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Torrington really took it to the Wildcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-26 win at home. That's another feather in the cap for Torrington, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Torrington to victory, but perhaps none more so than O'Marra Annabel, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Annabel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilah Boulli, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.

Torrington's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Wilby, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Torrington will play host again and welcome the Indians, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Watertown is ranked 57th, while the Raiders are ranked 60th). As for Wilby, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
