Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Eagles vs. M.L. King Lions

The Columbia Eagles will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the M.L. King Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Columbia was able to grind out a solid victory over Cedar Grove, taking the game 75-64. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Columbia had a senior duo take command as Deven Nelson posted 21 points and Zayd Muhammad scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Smith, who earned ten points.

Meanwhile, M.L. King had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Banneker by a score of 86-75 on Tuesday.

Columbia strolled past M.L. King in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 70-52. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
