Basketball Game Preview: Wheeler Mustangs vs. Highland Park Hornets

Wheeler and Highland Park are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Wheeler Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Highland Park Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Wheeler and 11 for Highland Park.

Last Friday, Wheeler had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of Wellington. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 946th, while the Skyrockets are ranked 234th).

Meanwhile, Highland Park took a blow against Panhandle on Friday, falling 73-10.

Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Everything went Wheeler's way against Highland Park in their previous matchup back in January, as Wheeler made off with a 43-19 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wheeler since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
