Weslaco East has gone  a perfect 3-0 against Laredo LBJ recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Weslaco East Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Laredo LBJ Wolves  at 2:00  p.m. Laredo LBJ took a loss in their last  matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Weslaco East, who comes in off a win.
Weslaco East's pitching crew heads into the  contest  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pace with a sharp  11-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive  victory against them.
 Eduardo Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Antonio Solis and  Jayden Del Villar did most of the damage at the plate:  Solis  scored a  run while going 2-for-4, while  Del Villar  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Andres Rodriguez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Weslaco East  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pace only posted  an  OBP of  .000.
Meanwhile, Laredo LBJ didn't have quite enough to beat Pharr-San Juan-Alamo on Friday and fell  7-6. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost four in a row.
  Enrique Loyola was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leonardo Alvarez, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-1.
 Laredo LBJ's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Weslaco East, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
 Weslaco East came out on top in a nail-biter against Laredo LBJ when the teams last played  back in March of 2024, sneaking past  2-1. Will Weslaco East repeat their success,  or does  Laredo LBJ have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
