Fatima had won 12 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 21-3 to make it 13. They put the hurt on the Battle Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Comets were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Spartans, so the Comets were just returning the favor.

Alayna Backes paced Fatima's offense, picking up 14 kills. Backes got some help from Lily Kempker and her 29 assists. Kempker also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Annabelle Horton, each putting up three.

As for Battle, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since September 25th.

When it comes to explaining why Battle lost, don't look at Olivia Marriott. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and three aces.

Fatima didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 1-1 draw against Hickman on the 11th. As for Battle, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Camdenton on the 9th.
