Soccer Game Preview: Fike vs. C.B. Aycock + How To Watch

The Fike Golden Demons will venture away from home to challenge the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fike had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the nine-goal drubbing they dealt Southern Wayne on Wednesday. The Golden Demons' defense stepped up to hand the Saints a 9-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, C.B. Aycock made easy work of Rocky Mount on Monday and carried off a 9-1 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering C.B. Aycock's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Rocky Mount are ranked 493rd).

C.B. Aycock's offense was hitting Rocky Mount from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Dennis Graham led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Fike is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for C.B. Aycock, their victory bumped their record up to 18-0.

Fike couldn't quite get it done against C.B. Aycock in their previous meeting on October 1st as they fell 4-2. Can the Golden Demons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
