Softball Game Preview: Central Wildcats vs. Russellville Golden Tigers

The Central Wildcats will take on the Russellville Golden Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Central came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Munster, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Russellville). They put the hurt on Marion with a sharp 14-8 victory on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Golden Tigers have won by exactly six runs.

Russellville got a massive performance out of Alexia Groce, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Groce has posted since March 3rd. Another player making a difference was Khristian Huerta, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Russellville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Russellville's win bumped their record up to 3-14. As for Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
