Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats

The Lincoln Trojans will face off against the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 games -- so hopefully St. Ignatius College Preparatory likes a good challenge.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 69-45 margin over Moreau Catholic. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory faced Buchanan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Buchanan. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly three points.

Lincoln's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 29-4. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over St. Ignatius College Preparatory in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 72-61. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does St. Ignatius College Preparatory have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
