Basketball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 9-12. They were outmatched by the East Columbus Gators and fell 55-19. The contest marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Union lost, don't look at Centavia Mckoy. Despite the final result, she posted nine points.

As for East Columbus, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Malia J. Graham, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 33 times she's played. McKenzie Spivey was another key player, putting up nine points.

Coincidentally, Union and East Columbus will both be playing Hobbton the next time they take the court. The Gators will head out to face the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Spartans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
