Basketball Recap: Viroqua Drops Highest Score of Season Against Tomah

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Viroqua). They were the clear victors by a 68-42 margin over the Tomah Timberwolves on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Blackhawks as they're now sitting on three straight.

Viroqua got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Olivia Willis out in front who shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points and six steals. Allyah Schwem was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

Viroqua smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Tomah still got an impressive performance from Brielle Plueger, who posted 17 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Plueger is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Nora Wright also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Viroqua's record is now 4-1. As for Tomah, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Viroqua has already played their next matchup (against Westby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tomah, they will face off against Baraboo at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
