Meanwhile, Madison unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against Winthrop, falling 14-0.

Madison saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Estes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Monmouth Academy, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
