Westside and Brookland are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Warriors will challenge the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Westside 2.4, Brookland 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Westside's offense. They fell 3-0 to Gosnell on Tuesday. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Westside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vada Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brookland). Everything went their way against Blytheville on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-0 victory. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Brookland, bringing their record up to 9-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Westside, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.

Westside beat Brookland 6-1 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
