MaxPreps California Division IV All-State Football Teams

Just a few years ago, Sierra Canyon wouldn't have qualified any players for the MaxPreps Division IV All-State Team. That's because it was still playing 8-man football.

But in three years the school has become a powerhouse since switching over to 11-man, including a CIF Division IV Bowl championship this season with a 34-13 win over Le Grand.

As a result, Sierra Canyon places six players on this year's MaxPreps Division IV All-State Football Team.

Leading the way is MVP Tyler Stewart, who quarterbacked the Trailblazers to the championship. He threw for 2,398 yards on the year with 33 touchdowns and just three interceptions. The Trailblazers didn't have a close game all season long, winning most games by 30 or more points with the closest margin being 10 points.



Stewart edges out Le Grand quarterback Alex Bucio and Santa Fe Christian's Connor Moore for Player of the Year Honors. Bucio led Le Grand to its finest season and a berth in the state bowl game while Moore was a force on offense and defense for Santa Fe Christian.
