Basketball Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott was the 78-55 winner over Montgomery County when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Scott Eagles were beaten by the Montgomery County Indians 97-53 on Tuesday. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-30.

Scott lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dereck Overman, who posted eight points. Kellman Haidinger also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Scott smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Scott and nudges their season record down to 9-16. As for Montgomery County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scott will square off against Harrison County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery County, they will take on Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
