Football Recap: North Broward Prep Starts Season with Loss on the Road

North Broward Prep had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 21-0 to the Ransom Everglades Raiders. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2015.

When it comes to explaining why North Broward Prep lost, don't look at Ralph Diaz. Despite the final result, he threw for 191 yards on 15 of 22 attempts, and also rushed for 34 yards.

Even if they lost, North Broward Prep's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ethan Phillips. He has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last seven times he's played.

Looking ahead, North Broward Prep will look to defend their home field on Friday against Westminster Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Ransom Everglades, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
