Softball Recap: Haskell Victorious

Haskell posted their closest victory since March 10, 2025 on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Petrolia Pirates 5-4. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 6-4 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Brynlee Stocks made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Stocks wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Paige Sheets, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Reagan Adkins also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Haskell's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Petrolia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Haskell will challenge Kennedale at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Petrolia, they will head out to face off against Muenster at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
