Baseball Recap: Kerman Wins Going Away Against Carson

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Kerman brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on the Carson Colts with a sharp 10-1 victory on Monday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Giovanni Gastelum, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Daniel Lanfranco, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

Kerman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Kerman moved to 9-6-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Carson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Coming up, Kerman will be taking part in a tournament against Justin Garza at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Carson, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Pedro at 3:00 p.m. on the 28th.
