Basketball Recap: Benjamin Franklin Gets the Win

Benjamin Franklin proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 37) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the ALA - Ironwood Warriors, sneaking past 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since January 4th.

Talan Speir continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Jonathan Hall, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Benjamin Franklin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Despite the loss, ALA - Ironwood still got an impressive performance from Noah Adkins, who put up 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Curtis Coplin, who scored six points.

Benjamin Franklin's win bumped their record up to 24-3. As for ALA - Ironwood, their loss dropped their record down to 16-8.

Benjamin Franklin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-31 victory against Bourgade Catholic on the 6th. As for ALA - Ironwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-63 defeat against Gilbert Christian on the 6th.
