Baseball Recap: Charles City Takes a Loss

Charles City fell victim to Mathews and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Blue Devils, falling 30-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

Charles City's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Mathews, they pushed their record up to 8-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Charles City will challenge Middlesex at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Mathews, they will square off against Northampton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
