Baseball Recap: Greece Arcadia Comes Up Short

Greece Arcadia extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 4-17 in the process. They lost 8-2 to the Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Cougars when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Greece Arcadia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julio Sosa, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-15 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Honeoye Falls-Lima's side, they got a great performance from Mitchell Martini as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Martini has become a key player for the Cougars: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Conor Finn was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Jacob Weber was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Greece Arcadia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, they will head out on the road to challenge Wayland-Cohocton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
