Volleyball Game Preview: Montpelier Locomotives vs. Holgate Tigers

The Montpelier Locomotives will challenge the Holgate Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Montpelier came up short against Edon and fell 3-1. The Locomotives have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Montpelier started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Holgate came up short against Pettisville on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Holgate was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 26-24.

Montpelier's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Holgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.

Montpelier might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Holgate in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Locomotives avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
