Soccer Recap: Catskill Comes Up Short

Catskill was the 6-0 winner over Johnstown when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Cats fell 3-1 to the Sir Bills on Friday. While losing is never fun, Catskill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Johnstown are ranked 209th).

Catskill has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season. As for Johnstown, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-4-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Sir Bills beat Catskill by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.
