Basketball Recap: Adriane Gieseking and Sophia Dyer Secure Win for Whiteland

Whiteland's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Greenwood Woodmen with a sharp 52-32 win. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Whiteland was led to victory by Sophia Dyer and Adriane Gieseking. Dyer dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds, while Gieseking posted 14 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. That's the most points Dyer has posted since back in December of 2024. Sarah Gilmour also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Whiteland was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Whiteland's record now sits at 2-3. As for Greenwood, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Whiteland is set to challenge their familiar foe Decatur Central at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Greenwood will square off against rival Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give the Woodmen their first taste of in-conference action this season.
