The Queensbury Spartans will face off against the Columbia Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Queensbury is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.

Last Friday, Queensbury was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 28-23 to Ballston Spa.

Loss or not, Queensbury got some senior leadership from Kasigh Gooden and Zavry Ward. Gooden picked up 156 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Ward threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Gooden's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbia). They put the hurt on Amsterdam with a sharp 47-21 win on Friday. Considering the Blue Devils have won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Maychack, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Maychack a new career-high in rushing yards. Another rusher making a difference was Aj Ficarra, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.

Columbia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 374 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 158 rushing yards in eight consecutive games.

Queensbury's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Columbia, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
