Basketball Recap: Fossil Ridge SaberCats vs. Denver South Ravens
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fossil Ridge can now relate to. They lost 83-60 to the Denver South Ravens on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (55), the SaberCats still had to take the loss.

Several SaberCats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Walker Shields, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points and five boards. Shields' big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cayden Clagett, who posted 12 points.
Denver South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matt Rhoades-Martinez, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The last time Rhoades-Martinez's shooting accuracy was this high was back in February of 2024. Dominic Rhoades-Martinez was another key player, going 7-for-15 on his way to 18 points and seven assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Fossil Ridge and nudges their season record down to 15-9. As for Denver South, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.
Fossil Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denver South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-72 defeat against Ralston Valley on the 4th.
