Softball Game Preview: Tallmadge Blue Devils vs. Bay Rockets

The Tallmadge Blue Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Bay Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tallmadge fell victim to Green and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Blue Devils' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Caitlyn Carter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

Meanwhile, Bay also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Rocky River on Wednesday, falling 10-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Rockets in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Bay's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Tallmadge, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Everything went Tallmadge's way against Bay in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Tallmadge made off with a 26-0 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
