Baseball Game Preview: Boardman Spartans vs. GlenOak Golden Eagles

The Boardman Spartans will face off against the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Boardman's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over West Branch. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Not much got past Collin Resetar, who gave up just four hits to keep West Branch off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grayson Eicher, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, GlenOak entered their tilt with Washington on Tuesday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Tigers.

GlenOak's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Boardman, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
