Basketball Recap: Diller-Odell Extends Winning Streak to Two

If Sterling wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Diller-Odell, they should've done a better job of containing Jack Phillips. The Diller-Odell Griffin were the clear victor by a 70-45 margin over the Sterling Jets on Tuesday which was due in part to Phillips, who to rack up 25 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Cooper Morgan, who en route to 21 points along with eight boards and three steals. He has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Sterling lost, don't look at Colin Wambold. Despite the final result, he on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and four steals. What's more, Wambold also posted a 63% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Kade Horstman was another key player, putting up nine points.

The win made it two in a row for Diller-Odell and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Sterling, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Diller-Odell will take on Parkview Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sterling does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
