Baseball Recap: Grundy County Takes a Loss

Grundy County took on Huntland in a bug-themed battle on Saturday. The Yellowjackets fell 9-5 to the Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellowjackets of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.

Grundy County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Huntland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grundy County will host Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings/Viqueens have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.81 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Huntland, they will be playing at home against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
