Football Recap: Mountain View Starts off Right with Win over Mountain Ridge + How To Watch

Mountain View had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions by a score of 20-7 on Wednesday. The Toros have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mountain Lions, too.

A big part of Mountain View's victory came down to the chemistry between TIERAH METCALF and her top target EMMA FISCHBECK. METCALF threw for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns while FISCHBECK gained 181 total yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance also gave METCALF a new career-high in rushing yards (133).

Mountain Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Marana at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will welcome O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
