Baseball Recap: Bayshore Christian Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Bayshore Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Blacksher Bulldogs by a score of 7-6. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Jace Jones was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Milo Scott, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Bayshore Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Blacksher, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

While Bayshore Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
