Baseball Game Preview: Strasburg Rams vs. Clarke County Eagles

The Strasburg Rams will venture away from home to take on the Clarke County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clarke County will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Strasburg extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Rams put the hurt on Page County with a sharp 16-1 victory.

Ryan Reynolds was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brady Flynn, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Strasburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.

Clarke County hadn't beaten Luray on the road since May 20, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Bulldogs 9-2.

Strasburg's record is now 15-2. As for Clarke County, their record now sits at 12-6.

Strasburg was able to grind out a solid win over Clarke County in their previous matchup last Tuesday, winning 6-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
