Preview: Edinburg Bobcats vs. San Benito Greyhounds

The Edinburg Bobcats will be home for the holidays to greet the San Benito Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Edinburg will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Even though United scored an imposing 58 points on Friday, Edinburg still came out on top. Edinburg enjoyed a cozy 74-58 victory over United.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edinburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kimora Fagan, who scored 30 points along with eight assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Fagan has scored at least 25% of Edinburg's points. Emily Carranco was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, San Benito had just enough and edged Rio Grande City out 31-28 last Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for San Benito.

San Benito got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelina Reyes out in front who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Rodriguez, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

Edinburg is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for San Benito, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Edinburg hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 69.1 points per game. It's a different story for San Benito, though, as they've been averaging only 42.5 points per game. The only thing between Edinburg and another offensive beatdown is San Benito. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Edinburg didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against San Benito when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory. Does Edinburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will San Benito turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
