Basketball Game Preview: Springville Red Devils vs. Wasatch Wasps

Springville is 8-2 against Wasatch since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Red Devils will welcome the Wasps at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, Springville needed a bit of extra time to put away Pleasant Grove. They walked away with a 61-53 victory over the Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

It was another big night for Jamyn Sondrup, who dropped a double-double with 27 points and 16 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 12 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Swift Hall, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Wasatch's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Maple Mountain on Friday. The Wasps took down Salem Hills 75-58. The Wasps pushed the score to 69-46 by the end of the third, a deficit the Skyhawks cut but never quite recovered from.

Springville's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Wasatch, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Springville was able to grind out a solid win over Wasatch in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, winning 68-56. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wasps turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
