Volleyball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Juan Diego Catholic, Judge Memorial Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Vanguard Academy Knights by a score of 3-1.

Judge Memorial Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-15.

Despite the loss, Vanguard Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Locklynne Mattingly had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Mattingly a new career-high.

Judge Memorial Catholic's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Vanguard Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5.

Judge Memorial Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against American Heritage on the 25th. As for Vanguard Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Freedom Prep Academy on the 25th.
