Volleyball Recap: Maroa-Forsyth Takes Down Warrensburg-Latham in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Maroa-Forsyth walked away with it. They won by a set and slipped past the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Cardinals last Monday, they had to take a 2-1 loss.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Maroa-Forsyth who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-18.

Sydney Pottala was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 17 digs and eight assists. Those 17 digs gave her a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Warrensburg-Latham saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Drue Vallandingham had seven digs and one assist.

Maroa-Forsyth's record is now 20-12. As for Warrensburg-Latham, their loss dropped their record down to 25-11.

As of now, neither Maroa-Forsyth nor the Cardinals have any future games scheduled.
