Basketball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. King Wolves + How To Watch

The Chaparral Pumas and the King Wolves will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Chaparral didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against California, but they still walked away with a 76-71 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pumas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Condors are ranked 248th).

Meanwhile, it was close, but King ultimately received the gift of a 57-55 win from a begrudging Wolves squad.

King has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points over those games. As for Chaparral, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Chaparral came out on top in a nail-biter against King in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, sneaking past 70-67. Do the Pumas have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
