Baseball Game Preview: Southeastern Local Trojans vs. Newton Local Indians

The Southeastern Local Trojans will head out to face off against the Newton Local Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeastern Local has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Southeastern Local is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 13-3 to Fairlawn.

Southeastern Local saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Mayabb, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Mayabb's first of the season. Another was Jake Alderson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Perry hit Newton Local with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Commodores, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 18th.

Southeastern Local's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Newton Local, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Southeastern Local couldn't quite finish off Newton Local in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
