Basketball Game Preview: Greater Cabarrus S Stallions vs. Albemarle Bulldogs

The Greater Cabarrus S Stallions will venture away from home to face off against the Albemarle Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Greater Cabarrus S has five straight victories, Albemarle has 16 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Greater Cabarrus S is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing NC H: they outscored them in every quarter. Greater Cabarrus S put the hurt on NC H with a sharp 63-41 win on Friday.

Greater Cabarrus S can attribute much of their success to Teddy Helton III, who posted 18 points. The matchup was Helton III's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Colt Crump, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-32, which was the final score in Albemarle's tilt against College Prep & Leadership Academy on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 632nd, while the Royals are ranked 118th).

Greater Cabarrus S pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27 points. As for Albemarle, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Greater Cabarrus S came up short against Albemarle when the teams last played back in December of 2018, falling 52-44. Can Greater Cabarrus S avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
